Agboola Shadare Releases First Christmas Album New York, November 26, 2011: Agboola Shadare, the Nigerian gospel guitarist and composer, has released a first Christmas album, titled: Stings of Christmas.
The album, now on sale online through channels such as CD Baby, Amazon and ITunes, is a collection of traditional songs, including Silent Night and O Come All Ye Faithful. Like a master chef, Agboola Shadare, has, however, turned the ordinary into a delicacy. You will be surprised how old music has become new again.
According to CD Baby, “With the application of Agboola Shadare's masterful arrangement, a selection of traditional Christmas songs become a transformed blend appealing to smooth jazz, R&B, gospel and other tastes. This is a Christmas album approached from another angle.”
Between 1993 and 1994, Agboola interacted with the group Treasure Band, appearing in several concerts, bewildering his audiences with his talent. But the maestro's roots in Christianity would supersede any other consideration. Talented as he was, playing for God's glory was paramount in his career. Between 1994 and 2002, he played with House On The Rock Musical Ministries, led by Pastor Paul Adefarasin.
At the Nigerian Musical Award, he had won the BEST CONTEMPORARY JAZZ ALBUM OF THE YEAR. Born in Kano, Nigeria, Agboola Shadare has become an international songwriter, composer and producer.
A career which started as a young church musician, then moved into club and studio production in Nigeria, resulting in production for popular Nigerian artistes such as Gbenga Owoeye-Wise and Mike Aremu, and two solo albums - Dream Dawn and Glory – has blossomed. Realizing he has much so much to offer, Shadare moved to America to enlarge his territory and rub shoulders with the best.
The master guitarist Agboola's music is now enjoyed around the world. This extraordinary talent is declared to be the 'anointed George Benson' by enthusiasts. He has performed alongside Bob James, Ron Kenoly, Yolanda Adams and other top artistes and several times on TBN and CBN, and has travelled widely to many countries.
